Yondr achieves ISO 50001 certification to support its net zero goals

Yondr has achieved the prestigious ISO 50001 (Energy Management Standard) accreditation, setting us apart as leaders in energy-efficient data centers. This globally recognised standard demonstrates our commitment to effective energy management and driving down data center carbon footprints.

Certifying our commitment to net zero
The ISO 50001 accreditation is a major milestone on our sustainability journey – one that will help us improve energy performance, reduce energy consumption and minimise our greenhouse gas emissions. It also reinforces our sustainability strategy and super-charges our progress against our 2030 net zero carbon goal.

Implementing ISO 50001 into our business
Integrating ISO 50001 into our data center operations involves setting out a robust energy policy, conducting comprehensive reviews, and establishing measurable targets. In deciding how to act, we are also steered by the EU’s Energy Efficiency Directive.

With this approach, we can identify and implement energy-saving measures, monitor our performance, report on progress and continually improve our energy management as we design, build and operate increasingly energy efficient data centers.

Beyond Yondr – ISO 50001 client benefits
In line with our sustainability strategy, we’ll be investing in more renewable energy. Not only will this help us meet our contractual obligations, but it also brings a range of additional benefits to our clients:

  • Supporting environmental responsibility – our clients can be assured that Yondr prioritises sustainability and is committed to continually seeking ways to reduce our data centers’ carbon footprints
  • Providing an additional competitive edge – partnering with an ISO 50001 accredited data center provider enhances clients’ own sustainability credentials and supports their ESG goals
  • Boosting cost efficiency – by continually driving for increasingly energy efficient data centers, we’re reducing energy running costs over the long term for ourselves and our clients

Paul Dillon, Chief Development Officer at Yondr says: “This certification is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team, collaborating across multiple functions and with other stakeholders. ISO 50001 confirms our commitment to sustainability, delivering greater value to our clients through efficient and reliable data center services, and ensuring we fulfil our Destination Yondr ambition to be ‘Great to the world and communities around us’. We’ll continue to collaborate with our clients, meeting their evolving expectations as we drive positive change for the planet by reducing our data centers’ carbon footprints.”
