Yondr Group sponsors community event in Johor, Malaysia

The village of Bukit Batu takes its name from the Malay meaning ‘hill of rock’ and in October it was here that Yondr sponsored an event for the community, local to our Johor data center.

Free health screenings and motorcycle oil changes, towel crafting and a cooking competition were just some of the activities taking place for locals to enjoy. There was also a chance to get active with sports and team building activities.

Yondr-ites Chris Wang and Shahirah Yusoff assisted in cleaning and repainting three units of housing. They also distributed food baskets to those in need in Bukit Batu and the neighbouring village, Ayer Manis.

Active participation and creating a positive impact in the communities we operate means a lot to us here at Yondr. We were honoured to receive a plaque during the event’s closing ceremony as a token of the community’s appreciation.

Mark Avery, Yondr’s Senior VP Design & Construction APAC commented, “Events like this in Johor demonstrates our ambition of becoming a welcome neighbour. To us, being a welcome neighbour means recognising that every community is unique, with its own priorities, challenges and goals. We were delighted to engage with the community to see how we could best contribute.”

A big shout out to our Design & Construction team in APAC for making this sponsorship happen, along with other Yondr-ites who were in attendance. Thank you to the organisers at JLand Group and the local community members who also helped make this event possible. Together we can continue our goal of a better tomorrow.
